What SplitTab does not have

• No account and no login.
• No database of bills.
• No bank connection and no card details.
• No payment processing of any kind.
• No stored record of participants, by default or otherwise.
• No AI, and nothing sent anywhere to be interpreted.

Where the calculation happens

In the page you are looking at. The people, items, prices, tips, discounts and payments you type never leave your device: there is no server to send them to. Closing or refreshing the tab clears the bill.

Exports

Summaries, CSV files, the PNG share card, the bill file and the printed PDF are all generated on your device by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded in order to produce them, and nothing is uploaded afterwards. Where those files go next is entirely up to you.

Remembering a bill

There is an option to keep the current bill in this browser, and it is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, the bill is written to this browser’s local storage on this device only — not to a server, not to your other devices, and not to any other browser on the same machine. Forget this bill deletes it again immediately.

Opening a bill file

A .splittab file is plain, versioned JSON. When you open one, every field is read individually, checked against the type it is meant to be and clamped to a sensible range; anything unrecognised is discarded. Nothing inside a file is ever executed.

Analytics

If usage analytics are enabled on this deployment, they record only that a feature was used — that a quick split happened, that a settlement was generated, that something was exported. They never carry bill amounts, item names, restaurant names, participant names, individual shares, tips, payments or settlements.

Who runs this

SplitTab is an MJ Apps tool. Because there is no account and no bill storage, there is no personal data held about you to request, correct or delete.
